When Edo shogunate（government） started, fishermen from Tsukuda and a Shinto priest from Sumiyoshi Shrine （Present Tanomi-jinja Shrine） in Osaka went down to Edo with a branch of the spirit （Wakemitama）. The origin of Sumiyoshi Shrine （Tsukuda 1 -1 -14） is that it was enshrined on the island in 1646. At the entrance of Edo Minato, the shrine that enshrines Sumiyoshi Sanjin, the god of the sea, was worshipped by sailors.
