I don't know why, but it was popular around Tsukishima before I knew it, and now it's a melon-pan battleground. The sweet smell of freshly baked melon bread makes me want to eat it. Tokyo Melon Bread (Tsukishima 1 -6 -11) and Tsukishima Hisae (Tsukishima 1 -21 -3) on Monja Street, and Melon Bread Factory (Kachidoki 3 -8 -8) on Kiyosumi-dori Street are specialty stores. Of course, at other bakeries too.
